You might be surprised to know that cooking in a deep fat fryer can now be considered a healthy option. For many years this way of cooking has been looked down upon and considered an unhealthy, glutinous way to cook food. The people who used these devices were often portrayed as being unaware of their dietary needs and generally uneducated when it came to food and even their health. Well now things have changed and with the new range of fryers from brands like Tefal and Philips this style of cooking is suddenly socially acceptable again. This is due to the new method that these small kitchen appliances use to cook. Unlike conventional deep fat fryers this new generation use tiny amounts of oil and use hot air to cook the food rather than submerging it in boiling oil. The result just as good and perfect crispy fries and chips are served up every time. The only difference is they are not saturated with cooking oil!
